Well the 2017 Gold Coast 600 is over again for another year. We shared our 21^st floor unit in Sun Bird Apartments with our good friend Michael Buck. Numbers rose to the mid-twenties for Saturday & Sunday races.

The event had many surprises including this flyby by supporters of the “NO” vote.

Jamie Whincup became the first driver to drive the Gold Coast 600 circuit at a time in the 1:09s time.  In practice on Friday he recorded an incredible 1:09.9179s just below David Reynold’s previous record set in 2013.

Chaz Mostert & Steve Owen won the race on Saturday. Despite starting the Sunday race in 13^th position, the Ford driven by Scott McLaughlin & Alex Premat finished 1.5 seconds ahead of the Commodore driven by Jamie Whincup & Paul Dumbrell.

Just 27 points now separate Whincup, Fabian Coulthard and Scott McLaughlin in the championship standings with two rounds remaining.
