Andrew Gricks is a sports photographer based in Townsville, AUSTRALIA and travels the country and overseas to photograph major sporting events.
Following the completion of a Commerce Degree at James Cook University and accountancy studies he became a successful stock broker. In 1983 he started his own company, FINPAC Financial Advisors which before his retirement in December 2020 had two directors and managed the retirement finances of many astute investors, including some leading photographers.
He presently lives in Townsville with his wife Tricia but spends a lot of time visiting other areas of the country and overseas mostly to photograph major motor races. He is lucky to be able to combine his passions for motor racing and photography. Fortunately Tricia also shares his intense passion for motor racing.
For many years Andrew could be seen courtside shooting the Townsville Crocodiles as one of the NBL accredited photographers. He has also been the official photographer for the Australian Offshore Superboat Championship and shot the races from the front seat position of the media chopper. His photos are displayed on the Association's website and in boating publications around the world.
